fear nothing, love everyone

Today as I was impatiently waiting in line, my sinful mind became fixated on judging the people ahead of me who I blamed for making me impatient. The things that were floating around in my head were pretty ridiculous.

Then, as I walked back to my office, I was reminded of the words from my dear husband, as he expressed his appreciation for his mom at our wedding last year. His mom taught him many valuable lessons, and among them was "to fear nothing, and love everyone".

While I would love to claim those words and make them true of me, my heart is stubborn and I have a long ways to go yet.

I love my mother-in-law. She is Godly, wise, kind, fearless, and loving. The words she speaks is evidenced by the life she lives. Her obedience to the Lord is not hindered by her fear (of others approval, of danger, of being different). Her love for others is genuine (no matter their status, outward appearances, or imperfections). I have a lot to learn from her example and am so blessed to call her Ma.
